Running a coworking space shouldn't mean running it from WhatsApp.
What we want to build
Open Desk is software for coworking spaces and serviced offices in Tanzania. One place to see who's in and who has paid, collect M-Pesa and bank payments without chasing, answer every enquiry, handle bookings and receipts, and know your numbers without waiting for the accountant.
Later, the same system will let people across Tanzania find and book a desk in your space, with no listings to keep up to date.
Why we're asking you
We haven't built it yet. What you're about to see is a prototype: a clickable mock-up with a made-up space, made-up people and made-up money. Nothing you do in it is real, and nothing is sent to anyone.
Before we write the real thing, we want operators like you to tell us what's worth building, what isn't, and what we've got wrong. Your answers decide what we build first.
Who's asking
Salum Nassor Omar, a software developer and machine-learning engineer who has built SaaS systems. I'm building Open Desk here in Tanzania, and I'd rather build it with the people who'll use it. We're here to build together.

- Tell us how you run things today. About 2 minutes, mostly one tap per question.
- Explore the prototype. Your side and your members' side. Look around in any order, for as long as you like.
- Give your feedback. What you'd pay for, and whether you'd like to try it first.
Works on your phone. Your answers are saved as you go, so you can stop and come back on the same device.
What you get
- A benchmark of Dar coworking spaces: how occupancy, prices and tools compare, and what costs owners the most. Anonymised, and sent to you by 30 November 2026.
- A real say in what we build, and a free 6-month pilot if you'd like one.
- A personal reply from Salum within 24 hours of sending your feedback.
Your answers go only to Salum and the Open Desk team. We use them only to build Open Desk and, if you ask us to, to get back to you. Want them deleted? Message Salum anytime.
